Some folks I know have played so much RM that terms like RR, soudtracking
ways, and death stare true enter their normal dinner-party conversation.
Personally, I find RM to be a fascinating game to play... there's a certain
satisfaction and mathematical beauty to a correctly-completed character
sheet...
The spell lists for a Pornomancer would probably have raised a few eyebrows
at ICE. It might be more interesting (and certainly much easier!) to convert
RM/MERP stats for Middle Earth characters into UA's percentle system.
I bet Feanor could deal with that pesky Alex Abel.
But I digress.
Regarding soudntracks:
>>>I make the occasional out-of-game soundtracks which I give to my
players to keep the game fresh in their mind between sessions.<<<
Damn fine idea, that. Do you use computers for this, or are you a cassette
man?
>>>My next project is a personal character soundtrack for each PC<<<
Oooh, players can respond *so well* to this if properly done. It's not
always wise to draw from the musical tastes of the players involved, though
- it can make for disparate selections, and some players only listen to a
limite drange of music.
A soundtrack-conscious GM should probably try to cultivate a wide range of
musical habits, and look out for well-done works by artists that aren't
constantly in the public awareness. Although "Frozen" was thematically
perfect for an old Changeling campaign, that it was sung by Madonna made it
very hard to use without player recognition (as a top ten hit) ruining the
mood. The obscure remixes, OTOH, were great (and strangely, cured my amnesia
at the time).
>>>that's going to have to wait until after exams.<<<
Zams are more important than a campaign; campaigns can always be delayed.
