Calculus, also belief, was Re: [UA] Crosswords and Blue Teets

Actually, by the count I'm doing, the people who did
ring in were all strongly, if that word applies,
agnostic. No one said anything like: "I'm a
christian and I'm proud of it" or "My buddhist
philosophy fits right in with UA." Even though
Cassady Toles proclaimed his Jewish nature in order to
make a point, I didn't see anyone saying "Being a
Daoist," or "Sufi's rule!" or even "I'll stand by my
Unitarian congregation, live or die."
That's not really suprising. Christianity and
roleplaying games don't seem to get along very well,
but I thought that just might be FUNDAMENTALIST
christianity, you know, right-wing grass-roots
politically-active-but-not-evangelical-except-for-the-
radioshows-we-make-in-the-basement christianity.
Chrisianity, as it were, with a K.
Why did I ask the question? For one thing, I wanted
to see where people on the list were coming from. For
another thing, I think beleif is very important when
it comes to magic and I suspected that a lot of people
on the list had strong beleifs (although not very
formalized ones.)
Also, I was kind of hoping the pagans and
Crowley-types would chime in and maybe draw some sort
of parallel between popular occultism and the OU's
more violent secret doctrines.
