I'd say that Judaism's switch from monolatry (accepting other gods but only worshipping Yahweh, of which there's evidence in the early bits of the Bible) to monotheism (denying the existence of the other gods) might have been caused by the ascension of some archetype (The Hierophant, the [pre-hitler] Demagogue, the True Believer, or something else).

That's an extremely weird idea. Perhaps each iteration of the universe has only one constant, the reboot, and varying conditions for it. Or perhaps, going ever further, the universe works like an evolutionary algorithm, each time modifying itself slightly and being judged on some criteria (length between reboots, perhaps). For a cross-dimensional UA, you could have multiple universes intermingling for evolutionary purposes (through things crossing over or blending of their physical laws... perhaps that's what adepts are).
>Y'know, Biblical UA might be fun. Avatars hanging around in the desert, Simon
>Magus as, well, an adept, the House of Renunication on the Road to Damascus...
Let's see... Saul hates Christians. That's his obsession. Riding along, he has a mystical experience of some sort, then goes around becoming the lead Christian evangelist. Sounds like the House. Perhaps the Room of Faith (whereby extreme atheists and haters of a particular religion are converted)?
Mr. Teapot
and the complementary Room of Doubt which creates atheists and agnostics
