[UA] What Do You Beleive?

I'll play.

Raised Catholic (I know...how unusual in Ireland.) Fairly faithful up until 
my first year in college, when I saw something which ruined my ability to 
take a lot of organised religion seriously.

Toy Story.

Seriously.

Y'know the bit where Buzz Lightyear asks the Pizza Planet Aliens who's in the 
charge, and they point up to the top of the container and say in reverent 
tones "the Claw! The Claw is our master, the claw chooses who will stay and 
who will go!"? That bit. 

I fell off my chair laughing. My friends considered calling the ambulance 
because I was laughing so much I couldn't breathe. It just seemed to be the 
perfect summation of religion and faith in the unknowable. I sorta drifted 
away from religion after that.

I'd very much like to believe in some higher power. Death - well, my death, 
the prospect of me not being - scares the crap out of me....but I just don't 
see any valid reason to have such faith. If God exists, He's going about 
things in a really odd and bastardly way.
