I like "to value life, accept death." Thus making both Harold and Maude
necromancers of some sort. I can't really get my mind around much more of it
than that. Tyler Durdin was trying it, collecting the driver's licenses and
threatening to kill clerks that didn't pursue their dreams. Gabriel and Gretta
were getting it at the end of The Dead as the snow fell.  I'm just not smart
enough to quantify some way all these things fall together.
