Heh, a snarling atheist. Lovely imagery.
It's hard to classify my beliefs, but I'd have to go for
the category of Deist. While I acknowledge the slim
probability that atoms collided in the right way to give us
what we have, it is too slim for me to accept (just like I
won't accept that I'll ever draw a Royal Flush in hearts in
five-card stud). I also reject teachings that whatever
created the universe intervenes using burning bushes or
holy wars that send you straight to Paradise when you die.
This could lead me to make the haughty claim that a
dissociation from organized religion makes me more
receptive to the Unknown Armies universe, but that wouldn't
be true. I have some very pious Christian gamer friends
who can play something as drastic as a demon or
Satan-worshipper. Their faiths are strong enough that they
don't feel uncomfortable doing so.
So mark me down as a Deist. Or if you want a broader
distinction, I guess you can lump me as an Agnostic. After
all, no one really knows what's out there; you can only
believe.
Kevin
