That certainly does sound a lot more like the
necromancy I keep running across in Gardner and De
Grivy and that one crappy CJS Thompson collection of
essays I own. Necromancers mess with what's already
dead, they don't throw bits on the pile. I just got a
copy of PoMoMo and read about Thanatology. I'm glad
it's called Thanatology. It's a useful plot device
and it fills a game up with grue nicely, but I also
like having characters poking around in graveyards,
watching executions and hanging around the terminally
ill patients in the hospital. These people would have
some sort of rote spell which makes demons appear to
everyone in a given room, though not neccessarily in a
form which can be recognized as a "demon" or ghost.
