Nope.  It really seemed to me that the complexity needed to implement them would exact too high a price on mechanical smoothness.  If you feel like it, you could slap on a -10% when they're badly hurt.  Really, though, I find the hidden damage system does more than wound penalties to encourage caution.  If they don't know how far from death they are, they naturally back off.
