Truthfully, I don't think they would even consider their origins incestuous.  Such inbreeding is relatively standard among ruling families that survive for any length of time.  A king may marry his first cousin, but no one will mention incest.  Such taboos, while universally present, tend to vary wildly about who is an acceptable mate and who is not.

I tended to think that any genetic dysfunction involved in the family bloodline was included in vampirism, not that vampirism was one particular dysfunction and that others also existed.  That is, because these people all (or most) have it, then it's part of vampirism.
