Good idea. Actually, the guy is a burn-out who doesn't care anymore
about what happens to him. He's hiding in his home waiting for the
Sleepers to come for him. He doesn't care about the Tiger, either (he
saved the life of a child by turning him into an automata; that's why
the Sleepers want him) so he could send some clockworks away. Maybe even
set the self-replicating machines as a testament to his work.
