Which reminds me...
In the original Sumerian that Genesis is possible based on, the 'clay' the
first people are made of isn't clay at all. The word best translates to
'seed', as in semen. That is, 'Adam' is created from genetic material.
This is discussed in a book by Zecharia Sitchin? He discusses our origin
myths (and in particular the Sumerian) in terms of genetics and
super-science, a creator race from afar with humanity as a worker race. And
it's quite persuasive, too.
