>Um...wow. Saw this yesterday, and it's still
>sending chills down my spine. Part of it was the
>perfect audience--I was sitting behind 30 or so
>teenage girls who were--I kid you not--sobbing
>uncontrollably at the ending. Not wailing and
>gnashing. Just a slow, steady wave of sniffs and
>sighs, a little stuttered breathing, culminating
>in the head bending low. The music was great blah
>blah blah, but the movie--damn, it's period UA all
>the way! No Magick, no Avatars, no IC. Just lots
>and lots of bohemians, whores, a Duke, a
>narcoleptic Argentinian, and the world's coolest
>French dwarf. I walked out of the theater,
>thinking of about ten different ways to bring that
>world to life. And if I walk out thinking that,
>and not of how I could have done it better, it's a
>damn near perfect movie for me.

Do you remember the discussion we had about doing posmodern period pieces? This is good exmple of one, it seems.

I thought it was two separate movies, one of which I loved, and the other I was indifferent towards.

Mr. Teapot
