[UA] Moulin Rouge

Um...wow.  Saw this yesterday, and it's still
sending chills down my spine.  Part of it was the
perfect audience--I was sitting behind 30 or so
teenage girls who were--I kid you not--sobbing
uncontrollably at the ending.  Not wailing and
gnashing.  Just a slow, steady wave of sniffs and
sighs, a little stuttered breathing, culminating
in the head bending low.  The music was great blah
blah blah, but the movie--damn, it's period UA all
the way!  No Magick, no Avatars, no IC.  Just lots
and lots of bohemians, whores, a Duke, a
narcoleptic Argentinian, and the world's coolest
French dwarf.  I walked out of the theater,
thinking of about ten different ways to bring that
world to life.  And if I walk out thinking that,
and not of how I could have done it better, it's a
damn near perfect movie for me.
