Hmm. Nice. Maybe you could basically "ground" yourself by proxying to a dead 
person, and become immune to most magicks. The spell just ends up trying to 
affect the empty psychic space where the person used to be when they were 
alive.  Of course, if the person is around as a ghost or demon, you've just 
basically handed them the front door key to your head and said "make yourself 
at home".

The Jefferson stuff looks like it might be some form of Iconomancy, though...
