:)
I had a pretty weird dream myself last night. Two, actually but from the
first one I only remember the last "scene". In it I'm on a plane. Alone. All
other seats are empty and I can't hear the engines. I look out the window.
The POV shifts outside to show the plane, engines off, suspended in grey
mist. The"camera" zooms out, until the plane is nothing but a dot hanging in
the middle of an enormous room. The "camera" keeps zooming out until I see a
gigantic spaceship hovering on the edge of earth's atmosphere. Then I start
to scream...
The second dream was far more disturbing and intense:
I am 8 or 9 again and back in primary school. All of my old class-mates are
there as well. It's winter, late in the evening. We're waiting for our last
lesson. The teacher comes and tells us all children are gathering
downstairs, in the gym. We'll be watching a movie. YAY!
Half way down cold chills start runing down my spine. It's too damn dark and
quiet. No kids laughing or running around. The lights in the corridors are
fading. They flicker and fail one by one.
When we reach the gym I can barely see anything but I'm somewhat relieved to
hear a murmur of voices from inside. We enter. It's still pretty dark but
there's some light from a big screen TV in the center of the hall. It shows
static, lighting up a small circle in front of the screen. Surprisingly that
space is free for us to sit down even though our class was the last to come.
We take place and I can still hear children talking around us but after a
while I realize something is horribly wrong. I don't hear the usual "what
are you doing after school?", "I've seen this film, it sucks" or "I got an F
in maths, mom's gonna kill me". Insted it's like listening to a hundred TVs
tuned into different channels. News flashes, sport reports, political
debates, advertisements... only in children's voices.
I'm scared. I look at our teacher for some comfort and she looks back at me,
her eyes glowing with the same blue swirling static as the screen. I catch a
glimpse of her hands and there aren't any, just bundles of wires running to
the floor and dissapearing outside the circle of light.
She smiles. It's not a pretty smile.
In that very moment a friend sitting beside me screams and starts coughing
blood .He is lift into the air impaled on a thick power cable. I watch as
he's flung around like a grotesque puppet yelling in pain and terror.
Then rows of TVs embended in the gym's walls flicker on and flood the hall
with blue light. In it I can see every detail of the massacre. My
class-mates start dying, wires penetrating their bodies, ripping them
appart.
And as if that wasn't enough I finally understand where all those children's
voices were comming from. On the walls, between the screens tangled up in
wires, hang hundreds of disfigured, little heads. Their eyes glow with
swirling static. Every mouth muttering mechanically the audio to a different
TV program.
And that's the moment I woke up.
And yes, I'm pretty much sure that dream was inspired by the short
discussion on TV-mancy. Maybe someone can make use of it, somehow.
