Yup. If you read his autobiography "The Long Hard Road out of Hell",
he's a provoker, tring to make people re-evaulate their
preconceptions. Of course, most of the people that see his 'work'
don't think at all, they either latch onto it or are repulsed by it.
Hmm, now there's a possible archetype "The Misunderstood Teacher",
seen through misunderstood artists or anyone who tried to bring
people the truth and was totally misunderstood (Cassandra, for
instance).
