Actually, personamancers can already do this via Mask of the God,
gaining the 
Avatar skill equal to their personamancy skill.  A PC personamancer
could, with some effort, make several avatar masks;
beware of personamancer munchkins!

Iconomancy has potential in this area;  how many Icons were also
Avatars?
JFK=True King, Marilyn Monroe=Object of Desire.  They might be able to
assume (temporary) Avatar status.  Some variant on iconomancy might even
become a school based on the power of the archetypes or, perhaps less
munchkinish,
develop more effective tilts &/or rituals to channel archetypal power.
