Carbon Cliff, Illinois. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a rather
nice apartment for $200 a month there. I know some friends of ours bought
a lovely four bedroom home in Rock Island for about $80,000 -- and Carbon
Cliff has to be far, far cheaper.
The disadvantage, of course, is that Carbon Cliff pretty much sucks.

To attempt to govern from a set of bromides and applause lines is not a
fulfilling or dignified life for a grown-up, and Mr. Bush's greatest
pleasures as president may be his encounters with tour groups in the
White House. So save some despondency for him.
