One thing that comes to mind when considering this (and I like
the idea, BTW) is the wonderful potential for reworking rituals
in the framework of children's games and superstitions. You can
look at the underlying origins of the games, like the whole
Ring-Around-the-Rosie source during the bubonic plague, or at
the urban legend schmeer like the movie Candyman, or even just
the little rituals like not stepping on a crack.
Imagine a child with the right kind of ritual attention
methodically crushing spiders to make it rain, or feeding
someone Coke and Pop-Rocks to kill them. That sort of thing
could make for a very creepy source of power in the junior UA
world. Hell, mix that in with a normal adult game, and you have
an impressively nasty little twist to throw at your players.
Black Plague spreading through small towns in the midwest
because some kids are playing Ring-Around-the-Rosie for the
wrong reasons. Drought brought about by the "Rain, rain, go
away," rhyme. Mothers collapsing because of shattered vertebrae
when their kids accidentally (?) step on a pavement crack.
All in all, a meaty area to exploit, either for regular UA, or
UA Junior.
