Howdy all.

South Africa as well as the rest of Africa falls into
the primitive social justice view.

Almost cyclically and in chaotic bunches, the
newspapers are filled with stories about informal
kangaroo courts (read lynch mobs) that put a suspect
witch on "trial".

Luckily Hush Hush gives a mechanic about the mob
mentality just divide the mob's size by ten. But
remember that witchcraft and magic are an intergral
part of life in the townships and rural areas. A local
sangoma (witch-doctor) can earn a lot of money on the
side doing his sorcery.

>From this I figure the Sleepers would be the the
second biggest UA group to feature in SA. The most
proliferate would be the Order of St. Cecil that look
for weird goings-on while doing valuable missionary
work. The TOSG might probably be three people and a
Post Office Box for mail.

The evil sangomas kidnap children and carve them up
and create magical salves and potions collectively
called muti (read mojo). The black sangomas are the SA
equivalent the Westernized global Satanic cult
paranoid fantasy.

Most of the sangoma magic requires a vehicle to carry
it and certain muti can be booby-trapped blast style
. As said, muti can be porridge, paste or liquid. It
can be drunk, smeared, painted on walls, splattered
over target people and objects, etc.

'Sides shouldn't Deepest, Darkest Africa have its own
secret societies. Voodoo has the zobop, we have our
own... we just haven't seen them yet, but a few years
ago I ran a Mage game and it featured an ancillary
group of witch-doctory necromancer-cannibals. The body
the initiate consumed (ritually) bound the dead man's
ghost to him like a familiar. So think of a Authentic
Thaumaturgy styled Shaman that has few spells but a
couple of demon servitors. Fits in somewhat, its just
that they are fictitious.

There you are very basic game skeleton stuff. Use and
abuse.

Cheers,

Chris.
