You know, I like RPG.net as much as the next guy, and Sandy seems keen and
all, but if you wanted to talk about weird qualities he has, I'd go for
the ability to totally skew some people's perception of what's really
happening.

Did you notice that nobody's been able to post on RPG.net since about half
past midnight on 2/18? There was a big round of flames when John Wick
threw out that column about the evils of D20. The character of the online
RPG community hasn't exactly undergone a sea change since Sandy came back.

If there was any major change, it was due to D20. D&D3 and Star Wars came
out, and everyone got all excited and flamey, and that drew the flamers to
all fora, and they didn't restrict themselves to just D&D3 or D20 based
stuff.

Since then, everyone's been calming down and it's getting more tranquil.

Similarly, when Mage: Revised was released, there was a lot of sound and
fury, and not all of it about Mage: Revised. That's just the nature of
controversial products.
