The CoNG worship the Naked Goddess, and gain their power by following her, rather than following the archetype she established. They're imitating her physical actions but lacking the same symbolic power that made her the Object of Desire or the WECHBY, or whatever. In particular, sex is of primary importance to Pornomancy but not so important to the archetype she scended as (it's just a way of creating desire, and she could have used some other method for the archetype).
I've been wondering about other schools having begun by similarly worshipping ascended IC members but not directly following the avatar path. Things like Pluotmancy could be linked up with the Merchant (once again, Plutomancy worships the money, which for the Merchant is just a means of exchange, which is the heart of the archetype) or Cryptomancy with the Two Faced Man (the Cryptomancy focused on lies) or Bibliomancy and the Scholar (the books, a means toward knowledge for the Scholar, are of primary importance to bookworms). I doubt you could make connections for all archetypes or schools, but some perhaps. But that's all my warping of the canon somewhat (it's not mentioned, but it's never directly denied AFAIK).
