An excellent book. It reminded me of Lucy Clifford's _Anyhow Stories_
before I ran across it in Morrison's DOOM PATROL. Easily one of the most
disturbing children's books I've ever read -- I'd love to find a copy for
myself.
William Sleator has also written some genuinely disturbing books for childen
-- and it's a lot easier to find his books. _Others See Us_, _House of
Stairs_, _Beasties_...good stuff.

"Yes, I am acquainted with Mr. DePalma," Dr. Hsu said. "He was
my pupil years ago. A young man not without talent, but slapdash,
and huckle-muckle in his worksmanship."
"What did you say?" the mayor asked.
"He's a jerk," Dr. Hsu Ting Feng said.
