Yeah. It reminds me the 'self-defense murder' trick, so common in
Hollywood action movies. You know how it works - Hero defeats villain,
hero says 'I won't kill you because I'm not like you', hero turns his
back, villain try to attack, hero turns around and kills villain in a
most gruesome way. 

It cheats on morality. Instead of getting justice done, the audience 
gets a way to justify its revenge fantasies. It's annoying.
