Robin Laws's _GURPS Fantasy II_ contains an excellent example of a
beloved children's book getting the serial numbers filed off and turned
into something brutal and evil for RPG purposes. I don't want to spoil it
on the list, though! Hrm, which makes this post kind of useless.
OBUA: One man has been consistently evoking and focusing the
imaginative power of a significant fraction of the population of the
United States, and has done so for decades. He's well known, and easily
one of the most beloved and trusted men in the country, yet at the same
time a weird dark side of him appears in urban legends. He's even emerged
as a point of reference during some discussions on this list, and yet has
escaped direct attention. If you live here, you, yourself, have probably
come under his spell at some point during your life. And he's set to
retire soon. So what is Mister Rogers going to do now?
Wait, did we talk about him already? I forget.
