Freaky. A friend of mine from college had a similiar vision. 

He was abusing freon, and had a momentary image of exactly what
you're talking about: serried ranks of small green golf-ball
sized globes in empty space.

Then he heard a man's voice say, "Whoops! You weren't supposed
to see that." Then he heard a click!, everything went black, and
then he came out of it.
