[UA] Request from a new guy

Speaking of Monkeys, here's something that might show
up in a Bizarre of the Bizarre:

I used to live in a house where the landlord was very
trend-conscious.  One day, out of the blue, he brought
home this hideous statue of a monkey -dressed in a
bell-boy costume- right out of the blue.  It was
carved squatting with it's hands flat over it's head
situated so as to hold a wicker basket or a tray of
hors devours.  The monkey had black eyeballs and a
singularly malevolent look on it's face and everyone
in the house instantly hated and feared it.

I, myself, love monkeys (although I am not a stand-up
guy) and often play talking or flying monkeys in space
rpgs, but this monkey-stand was a thing out of any
child's nightmares.  It looked a cloose cousin of the
cymbal-clanging simian from Friday the Thirteenth, the
series.

Shortly after this sinister serving unit arrived in
our house, we (collectively referring to the people
who lived in the house) noticed that one finger was
broken. We used this as leverage to get the damn thing
out of the house but, as it was boxed up, everyone
stood around -six of us- in a semi-circle, secretly
knowing it would find a way back.

Our landlord simply could not understand why we didn't
like the thing and, the next week, he started seeing a
woman who, some say, also had a missing finger.  It
would be quite a spooky story if it was exactly the
same finger the hated ex-organ-grinder assistant had
lost, now wouldn't it?

Thank you for not writing" "How is everybody?" or "How
are you?"  Those are strokes I am particularly
reluctant to give.
