Hello folks -
Listening to "More Pink" at 4:17 am, it occurred to me that Tori Amos' "Take
to the Sky" would be a grand song to have playing in the background when a
UA character channelled the Flying Woman.
It's an hour later, and I'm thinking about how useful it would be to have a
list of UA themes, archetypes, motifs, and magickal styles with a variety of
songs and pieces of music that suit each.
Hopefully such a list would be fairly large and eclectic; many people do not
possess a Tori collection even as modest as mine, and they might prefer some
more hard-edged suggestions. Actually, I find that baroque and classical
music contrasts and compliments horrible violence quite nicely.
It's actually unusual for me to run a game without some thought given to
soundtracking it; when I had to do so at a con recently, the experience was
very strange. I ended up modulating my voice a lot more than usual create
the mood that I wanted.
I expect that this has been discussed in the past; if someone has kept a
record of such suggestions, it'd be a useful resource to see.
Cheers,
James ORance
