Uneven, I thought, but some genuinely creepy bits.  Well worth reading.

For my part, let me recommend _Flicker_, by Theodore Roszak.  Subtitled "A 
Secret History of the Movies", it involves all kinds of weird goings-on as a 
film scholor researches the life and work of B-Movie director "Max Castle".  
Very detailed, very paranoid feel, and very good.  And very UA friendly, I 
think.
