I don't know that one, I joined up a few days ago, but you all didn't hear
it word of mouth, you heard it over the internet.
Nevertheless I understand your point, and
you don't sound like an egomaniacal jerk, you sound like me when my areas
of
expertise are touched upon... (which isn't really an argument against it I
fear). Still I think as a rumour confined to the OU the story might work.
Thanks for defending me: I just have a personal suspicion a huge amount of
rumormongering in the occult underground goes on through writing either real
mail, packages sent by courier, or e-mail, because: 1, the important
locations are so far apart; 2, the people involved tend to be desperate and
cheap, and those are the cheapest mediums; and 3, the people involved tend
to be pathologically suspicious, and would rarely talk over the phone or in
public for fear of attracting the wrong attention, or that the sleepers have
their phones bugged...
