But the movie isn't actually about the Clandestine Gun as such, just a legendary gun based on certain details of the real thing. Perhaps the less accurate the description of the gun is, the less opposition there is to writing about it. The movie could have suffered from various set fires, actors quitting, lawsuits etc but it ended up getting made despite this... then vanishing into obscurity due to being launched on the same day as, um, some good film (ending gratuitously stolen from Dream Factory by John Tynes).
