fair enough. different versions of the story may pick up on different
aspects of the gun's powers or supposed origins. but that doesn't stop the
central story of the gun from being spread by urban myth. reading that stuff
about bloody mary & co has made a lot happier believing that quite detailed
myths can be spread through a subculture without resorting to the media.
especially when the subculture in question is one that's used to spreading
knowledge by rumour and hearsay
