>Okay, so partially I'm sending this out of fear of "bad luck for years."
>I've had seven years bad luck before, and I'm not anxious to repeat it.
>But also, there's something UA-ish about this. The whole "phone will rinng
>right after you do this." That and the TERRIBLE grammar.

Memetics at work. It doesn't matter if it's true or not, because by that point you've already forwarded the message on to other people, who do the same, etc. Should I point out that neither of the examples actually fit the age in minutes until your wish bit?

On the other hand, if only one such chain letter were to be true, it could make for unusual plot threads for a game. ie, seeking out the Infomancer (I'd bet) who started it alland figuring out his motive, how it benefits him, etc.

>The whole "phone ringing" thing reminds me of a card trick a friend of mine
>did in college. He'd point to a well-used deck of cards in his dorm room,
>or in the lounge where we used to hang out and play euchre all the time.
>"Watch this trick, it's a really good one. Ready? Okay. Pick up the
>cards. Don't let me touch them at all. I'll stay here, across the room,
>so you know I'm not doing anything, all right? Now, what's the month of
>your birth? November? Eleventh month, goes with the eleventh card in a
>suit, that's the Jack. I'll say jack of diamonds. Shuffle the cards real
>good, a couple times. Ready? Okay, cut the deck. You'll cut right to the
>jack of diamonds."
>
>"It's the three of spades, Jeff."
>
>He'd shrug. "Well, some day it's going to work out right just by sheer
>chance. When that happens, someone's gonna be REALLY IMPRESSED.

That's either the best trick in the world, or the worst. I'm not certain.
