Yeah, but it's all in how it's _done._ For instance, Peoria has its own
Harbinger of the Apocalypse, a beknighted, besotted soul who rants various
conspiracies to anyone who will listen. He's so much a piece of Peoriana
that one "Zoo Crew" type morning show had a weekly spot featuring an
interview with him. Now I know this only because there's a place in the
courthouse square (where he hangs out) that has killer salad, and I was
enjoying a little free entertainment with my repast.
Suddenly, in the middle of his incoherent rant, he starts spouting off about
vampires. Vampires...hmm...wonder where he's going with this? And then he
said the word that made my blood run cold:
Camarilla.
He continued for another minute or so, before they cut him off, and in that
time, he told of the Clans, of Caine the First Vampire, etc. Much of it was
garbled (Venture for Ventrue, frex), but the meat was still very much
there--someone was feeding this guy his delusions. Obviously, he knows he's
putting on a show, and he's willing to listen to any good story that comes
along. Maybe all that's needed to bring the One True Cosmology online is to
have a hundred crazy people around the country preaching it as if it were
the Gospel truth.
