My only question here is: if the police notice a rash of burglaries and such
by people with no left hand, wouldn't they be easy to spot and apprehend?
The concept is pretty darn cool and pulpy, I think. I see these guys being
very shadowy (obviously mystical), more as a convoluted rumor on the street,
like Batman or ninjas, which should keep the PCs guessing, until the cabal
gets the drop on them. I'd make the Hand something that has been *lost* for
awhile, with the PCs trying to track it down. This concept seems real
pulp/noir-like to me.
