Scary stuff -- and if you've read Linenger's "Off the Planet" about the
US/Russian "cooperation" on MIR, the line about how the money was
"frittered away on administrative expenses" becomes scarily plausible.
Linenger all but accused the Russian space officials of not giving a damn
whether MIR blew up or not, as long as the American checks rolled in and
they could take their skim.
