Having lived in both countries for significant portions of my adult and
formative years, I'd have to say that there is no question: Australia is
a lot more sexist, at its core, than the US. That is not to say anything
about individuals, or even groups within the two societies. Only the
core of the two societies. Australia is probably more racist as well, in
a way, but that's a very very hot and deep kettle of fish we do not need
to go into (since neither country has anything to be proud of in that
comparison).
