I could be talking out of my arse on this one.  I don't have the UA book here
to check.
However, I've always had the strong impression that the Freak was predominantly
male.  Maybe it was pronouns, maybe personality, maybe behaviour - but while I
know intellectually that the Freak is a hermaphrodite, I'm always though of it
as 'he'.
