As oppoed to Queensland, where Patrick and I both live, where, following the
English model, prostitution has, of itself, never been illegal.  Living off
the earnings of prostitution, yes, but not actual sex-for-money.  The reason
for this is that there's no usefulway of determining an implied contract in
giving gifts to a woman who later sleeps with the man.
