On that note, did you see Ken Hite's Suppressed Transmission on the Fool?  The reason I mention it is he talks (more in the marginal addition in the print version) about Gotham being the proverbial city of Fools, which definitely gives the Joker a strong boost in the symbolism over any other Fools out there...  Iguess that's all i had to say, except that I think the idea's kind of neat.
