Rewatch The Fugitive.  There's a very good reason why they didn't show the
train wreck, and if you think about it for a second, you'll see why.

Oh no, I realize there are story reasons for no train wreck, as well as 
fascinating camera angles that Mr. Shamalyan felt that we needed to be 
subjected to instead of a train wreck, but, by god, I want a train wreck!
