It's called Apocrypha: It's terrific (although Derek already knows how much I like Hunter).
It's told as a series of essays, rants, prophecies and other writings by Fyodor, a powerful and insane Hunter (power = insanity in that game).
Fyodor is a combination of psychopath and prophet. He conducts nasty experiments on both monsters and hunters, seeking to understand the truth about both. His prophecies are of certain doom, and the destruction of the world
- and that the hunters are the only hope, not to save the world, but to keep humanity alive to see what comes afterwards.
The book reads like the notes of a schizophrenic, and the artwork is of a similar nature. This is crazy country - made all the more unsettling by the possibility that Fyodor's right about his visions, his Holy Blood/Holy
Grail theory about hunters, and his prophecies of doom.
Add in commentary from 'Violin99', the guy that's gathered all these notes into a published book. Another crazy one, and much less pleasant than Fyodor.
Apocrypha is a very effective horror book, and one that has definite salvage potential for UA. Hell, Hunter supplements are all extremely good - those who dislike WW games should bear in mind that Greg Stolze is one of the
big Hunter contributors, and he's done some _amazing_ work for the line.
