And the Spanish-American War, too ("One of our ship has sunk. Let's
blame the spanish and start a war for Cuba"). Still, Hearst didn't
Ascend, so his gambit probably failed. You've got to wonder if Citizen
Kane was some sort of magickal countermeasure against him.
