I must admit that I didn't give the book a fair shake. I sat in the
bookstore and just read the parts directly from the Navidson Record,
skipping all the meta-text stuff. In that abbreviated form, it was
fascinating stuff.

I'm still not sure about the meta-text. Some of it worked, some of it 
didn't, and other parts of it left me with shivers running down my spine. 
(The letter from Johnny's mother where the first letter of each word is the 
real message in particular. Nothing like beginning a translation project 
with "They've found a way to break me. Rape a fifty-six year old woman.")

The author's sister is a musician who goes by the name of Poe. She's just
released a new album that includes songs inspired by HOUSE OF LEAVES. The
tunes I tried out on her website were uninspiring, however.

Any of her songs I heard didn't really do anything for me, but I must admit 
I'm interested.
