[UA] Black Kiss

I re-read BK last year. It's a pretty heavy Ellroy pastiche, but married 
to Chaykin's sensibilities--tits and death, I guess you could say. 
Entertaining enough. At the time of its release it was rather 
controversial, but it looks pretty tame in retrospect despite the nudity 
and violence.

For a full-tilt-boogie UA game--Underkoffler, are you there?--Chaykin's 
two TIME^2 (Time Squared...) books are pretty entertaining; one of them, 
THE SATISFACTION OF BLACK MARIAH, is about a demonic police car that 
belongs to Bonton Macoute, a sort of bog demon cop. When Macoute ends up 
in the hospital, nobody takes care of Black Mariah...and that means Black 
Mariah has to take care of herself. Mayhem ensues. Macoute finally saves 
the day by chasing Mariah down in a wheelchair and fornicating with her 
gas tank in the middle of the street, thus appeasing her and ending her 
reign of sex crimes.

The two TIME^2 books were published by First Comics in the mid- to 
late-1980s. The publisher is long gone and I don't believe the books were 
ever reprinted. But they're probably still gathering dust in numerous 
comix shops.
