Well, that's three free minor charges for any device that uncovers secrets.
But if the mechanomancer had the whole damn machine, that would be a
SIGNIFICANT charge for such a device...

Or if the original was incorporated into a clockwork and a duplicate was
returned to divert suspicion...

Nah, if I remember Mimeomancy correctly, it would have to be destroyed for a
charge. But what I can see is a mechanomancer hiring the mimeo to make a
copy so he can keep the whole thing while having the other mechanos think he
only got a few minors, the mimeo realizing that there's a siggy just sitting
around in his workshop waiting for *someone* to take it, and a struggle
going on over who gets the charge. There are a few dozen ways that would
play out, and it would be interesting to figure out how many possible
explanations are on which machine ended up being returned, and what happened
to the original, as well as who ended up with the wheels.
Oh, one minor thing, I thought a non-mechanical object with historical
significance got a siggy, and a functioning machine got a major, which might
make a piece of a functional machine give 2+ siggies because it's more
attached to the core idea of the school than Rasputin's ring (I think that
was an example given) would be.
My book isn't right at hand for me to check, and you are far more likely to
be right, being the co-author of the game, so what am I forgetting?
Oh, and if I am wrong, what *does* get the major?
