It reminds me a lot of the Stephen King short story where the doctor stranded 
on a small island after a boat wreck begins to eat himself from the feet up.  
 But that the two people (eater and eat...um, eatee) find it a fulfilling 
situation just takes the possible perversity of humanity to a new level.  I 
used to think Boxing Helena was odd.

Harris has done what, 4 novels his entire career?  Seems like he's one of 
those writers who only work on whim.
