Well, in case anyone doesn't want to know it, I'm going to include some
spoiler space.

The set up is that a famous horror writer has gone missing. He's a heck
of a nice guy as far as his fans are concerned, but kind of a chauvinist
jerk and a womanizer, and a dominant type into humiliation and psychological
control rather than physical stuff.. Tabloids are reporting that he's dead,
and they have a photograph of a skull-faced apparition lurking around his
abode.

The skull-faced apparition is just a guy with no nose who likes to watch
the writer's sexual escapades through the window. The guy's disappearance
is the result of a long string of events. His new girlfriend caught him
with another woman and their argument culminated in her grabbing one of his
nifty antique weapons and chopping off his hand. He wakes up tied to the
bed and realizes that he's been looking for a strong woman to put him in his
place for a long time. At some point, one of them gets the idea that she
should cook and eat his hand.

And now she's slowly amputating and eating every bit of him, but it's
consensual. No paranormal phenomena, just two horribly fucked up people.
