[UA] Thoughts on LA riots of 1992?

I was thinking on possible campaign ideas (and listening to a certain Ice
Cube album at the same time) recently and got to thinking of the riots in
Los Angeles back in 1992 and possible UA causes and effects.

Was it as simple as most of the world believes?  Frustration and
desperation sparked by what seemed a blatant insult to many?  Or is there a
more occult basis for the whole thing?  

What sort of charge would an Urbanomancer get from such a thing?  Is it
worth it?  Especially with all the charges those pesky Klepto- and
Annhilo-mancers were probably getting left and right.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?    Also vaguely related, anyone else have
any experiences running UA campaigns set in the past (it's only 8 years,
but it's still the past...)
