Difference in philosophy in avatars then, I see them as being broad and
applicable to several different shades of meaning. It is only the later
('Modern') avatars that have had to become so specialized.

'Nobles don't do hard work. What does Snow White's prince do, except snog a
girl who looks dead and is in a glass coffin? (Actually, on ArM someone
just mentioned he may have done a lot more to Sleeping Beauty.)
Eeeeeeeeeew.'

You think being a military knight was easy? Leaning to fight in full armor is
not a skill that you are born with. :)
Beside, the prince in Snow White is not a Prince in the sense of this
archetype. As you say, he doesn't do anything.

<Referring to the Prince who was a member of the Hitler Youth.>
'So the Prince can embrace evil causes? Defining evil consensually, of
course. You therefore have a Black Prince who doesn't draw from nobility, but
from his determination that the world should work to his model, from his
desire to set the world "right".'

National Pride, Protecting your Country, Physical and Spiritual Perfection,
are these not Noble Goals? (Just as liberating the workers, founding a
socialist state and heralding the arrival of Marxist Man is.) For an Avatar
of the Prince is this context, how long would it take him to realize the truth
of what he was doing (and supporting) and would he be able to resolve such a
crisis and retain his innocence?

'Um, <Hitler> Jungend?
What definition of innocent are we referring to here?'

How many of the Hitler Youth every really did anything like load people on
train for death camps? Until the facade between what they believe and the
reality underneath is shattered, it is easy to belong to such a group.

<Suggestion for an additional taboo?> 'Can Never Actually Live Happily Ever
After.
8) As Sondheim points out, there is always another adventure in the woods,
and Princes have to take them, because -they are Princes-. This means they
never actually get to use the treasure they bring back from the wilds. To go
Campbellian they may carry wisdom home, but do not integrate it. As catalysts
they encourage change, but remain unchanged.'

Thus the evolution of the Avatar that I build in, you cannot remain a Prince
forever . . . (except in memory)

'They also have weird fetishes...a glass slipper on a red cushion? Girls
with -really- long hair...'

hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe

Thank you very much for your comments. As I revise the Prince I will keep
them in mind.

I will refrain from posting a final version until after Statosphere and what
words of wisdom it contains but I will remain happy to discuss this (or other
archetype/schools of magic/etc) as they appear.
